Kenya is seeking investors to fund and construct two geothermal power generation plants, each designed to produce 30 MW of electricity. Selected firms are expected to complete construction by end of 2015 and may enter power purchase agreements with Kenya Power.

A 100 MW geothermal power generation facility utilizing underground steam from 22 geothermal wells in Menengai, opened as a green field by GDC in 2010.
