High-temperature electrolyzer (HTE) / Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC)

1 mention

A high-temperature electrolyzer uses electrical energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen at elevated temperatures. The MultiPLHY project uses a multi-megawatt, industrial-scale SOEC with a rated electrical connection of ~3.5 MW and a hydrogen production rate ≥670 Nm³/h, covering about 40% of the refinery's hydrogen demand during operation[3].
