SunHydrogen's proprietary technology uses nanoparticle semiconductor units grown from low-cost, abundant materials to generate hydrogen from water using solar energy.

The PECSYS project uses photovoltaic cells to power electro-catalysts that split water into hydrogen and oxygen. This technology directly converts solar energy into chemical energy stored in hydrogen fuel.

A small-scale prototype unveiled in December 2022 containing a single nanoparticle-based green hydrogen generator for controlled testing.

A Memorandum of Understanding between SunHydrogen and COTEC to scale up nanoparticle-based hydrogen generation from lab scale to commercial scale using industrial electroplating processes. The goal is to showcase the world's first nanoparticle-based green hydrogen production at commercial scale.
