Electrolysers for hydrogen production
Electrolysers are electrochemical devices that convert electrical energy into chemical energy by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen, and they are a core technology underpinning the projects supported by the European Hydrogen Bank.[5][7] EU auction rules for the EHB require a minimum of 5 MWe of newly installed electrolyser capacity at a single location for eligible renewable hydrogen projects.[7][6]
